The best places to visit in copenhagen

What’s right next to us?

The city of Copenhagen as well as our neighbourhood Vesterbro are full of places to visit and things to see. Here we have chosen to offer a more detailed view of a few of our favorites as well as of the ones that are closest to our central location. Tivoli Gardens, the City Hall, the Meatpacking District, Strøget the walking street, Glyptoteket are some of the attractions that are within 2 minutes walking distance from Hotel Mayfair.

Vesterbro: The edgy part of town

Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore! Once you enter Vesterbro, a certain kind of atmosphere can be experienced through every part of the neighbourhood starting with the streets, shops and people full of personality. That’s the beauty of Copenhagen, you don’t have to travel far and you can still stay central while switching between neighbourhoods that have their own unique style.

The Meatpacking District

The name says it all: the Meatpacking District was once the city’s meat industry hub, now turned into restaurant, art & party district. The industrial air and architecture of the area provides the perfect backdrop for everything going on in this part of town, from new trending restaurants, to beer bars, to fish restaurants, to coffee bars, galleries and party places.

Some of Copenhagen’s best restaurants, clubs and galleries can be found here, and with literally 2 minutes away from Hotel Mayfair, this place is not to be missed. Go for a stroll between the last decade’s industrial streets and discover today’s modern way of life settling in.

Istedgade

One of the cornerstone streets the city of Copenhagen is built on, Istedgade is a controversial place where the remains of the Red Light District meet the local residents now taking over the neighbourhood. Sex shops mix with independent local shops, cafes and bars in an authentic way, and the street buzzes with life at any time of the day.

Definitely a great place to discover hidden gems in the fashion, vintage, design and art department. Grab a take-away coffee and head down the street to come face to face with the locals.

Barril
pasta & wine bar

Barril is an Italian restaurant just accross the street from us. Known for its pasta dishes, charcuterie and wide selection of good wine, Barril is a local favorite.

Frk. Barners kælder

Danish cuisine at its finest – with all the classics, the famous smørrebrød & more types of snaps than you can handle!

Coffee Fellaz

 Our local café & roastery

Coffee fellaz is cosy coffee shop that offers an assortment of fresh organic coffee and snacks.

Hats, boots & bourbon

For your hats, boots & bourbon needs. That’s right, you get to sip on a bourbon while you shop your next beanie.
