Meet Hotel Mayfair’s Neighbours

Copenhagen Neighbourhood

In our experience the most memorable mini break’s are a combination of a great hotel and a great location. Not just a location that makes it easy to explore the whole city from, but the kind of location where you’ll find the best bars, bakeries, and baristas right on your doorstep. We’re proud to be neighbour’s with some of Vesterbro’s coolest residents, and we’d like you to get to know them too.

Barril - - Just opposite our front entrance, Barril is one of our favourite’s for laid-back pasta and wine. Paired to the menu and with a selection from around the globe, they have a great selection of wine-by-the-glass that varies daily and encourages a little wine exploration along with your meal. Chef Magnus prepares classic Italian with the kind of love and attention that wouldn’t be out of place in nonna’s kitchen. You’ll find the menu is filled with a delicious medley of comfort food and relaxed date-night food. Buon appetito.

Frk. Barners Kælder - - Head left out of the hotel and on the other side of the road in a beautiful historic red-brick building you’ll find one of the city’s best-kept-secrets for authentic Danish cuisine. A century ago, the building was a safehouse for vulnerable women run by Miss Barner, whose work in the community inspired the restaurant name. The menu is true to the building’s history with produce that is local and seasonal and an honest but refined approach to delicious Danish dining. Lunch and dinner are served in a warm and welcoming banquet hall or on a pretty outdoor terrace. The perfect place for an introduction to Danish home cooking, and to experience the tradition of an aquavit aperitif.

Risteriet - If there’s one thing we take seriously, its coffee. Follow your nose and take a 2-minute walk south of the hotel to Risteriet Coffee at Helgolandsgade 21 for some of the best in-house roasting in the city. They have one of the widest ranges, some of the most passionate coffee-people, and brew the perfect morning takeaway coffee.

Hats, Boots & Bourbon - The name of this vibey spot doesn’t leave much to the imagination, they really are a hats, boots, and bourbon place. Get a drink or a coffee, try on their selection of local and hand-picked international brands, and experience one of the most relaxed shopping experiences you’re ever likely to have. The aesthetic is 1930’s inspired with a design rich with exposed brick, vintage leather sofas and cosy corners. It’s less than 200m from the hotel on Istedgade 24, and well worth a visit as you explore our neighbourhood.
